Getting Started with LoyalCustomer.app: A Complete Step-by-Step Guide for Small Business Owners

A complete step-by-step guide to launching your loyalty program with LoyalCustomer.app — from sign-up to welcoming your first customer. Includes tips for bakeries, salons, grocery stores, and independent businesses.

You just signed up for LoyalCustomer.app — welcome! Good news — you now get 15 free customer slots when you sign up, so you can try everything at no cost. This guide walks you through every step from creating your account to having your first real customer earning points in your store.

Already set up? Jump straight to Step 5: Sharing your program with customers

What You'll Have by the End of This Guide

  • A verified business on LoyalCustomer.app
  • A points-based loyalty program tailored to your store
  • At least one reward offer your customers can redeem
  • A public business page to share with your customers
  • Your first customers enrolled with their digital loyalty cards

Step 1: Sign Up & Create Your Account

Download the LoyalCustomer.app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android), or sign in at loyalcustomer.app.

You can sign up with:

  • Google Sign-In (fastest option)
  • Email & Password
  • Phone number OTP

Once logged in, you'll land on the home screen. Your next step is registering your business.

Step 2: Register Your Business

Tap "Register Business" from the home screen. You'll be asked for:

FieldWhat to enter
Business NameYour official business name (e.g., "Sunrise Bakery")
Business TypeChoose from Bakery, Salon, Grocery, Restaurant, Retail, etc.
Phone NumberYour customer-facing phone number
EmailBusiness contact email
AddressYour physical business address
LogoUpload your logo (optional but recommended — customers will see it on their loyalty card)
Registration NumberYour business registration or license number

💡 Tip: Upload a clear, square logo image. It will appear on your customers' Apple & Google Wallet loyalty cards.

After submitting, your business registration goes to review. Approval typically happens within 24 hours (often much faster). You'll receive an email and a push notification when approved.

Step 3: Set Up Your Loyalty Program

Once your business is approved, open the app and tap into your Business dashboard. Go to Loyalty Program and tap "Create Loyalty Program."

Configure Your Points Engine

Choose how customers earn points:

Option A: Points Per Dollar Simple and transparent. Example: every $1 spent = 1 point.

$10 purchase → 10 points
$25 purchase → 25 points
$100 purchase → 100 points

Option B: Price-Range Tiers Reward higher spending more generously. Example:

Purchase AmountPoints Earned
$1 – $9.995 points
$10 – $24.9915 points
$25 – $49.9935 points
$50+75 points

💡 Best practice: Keep the math simple. If customers can't quickly estimate how close they are to a reward, the program loses its motivational effect.

Customize Your Loyalty Card

  • Card Title: Something catchy like "Sunrise Rewards" or "The VIP Club"
  • Card Color: Pick a color that matches your brand (it appears on the digital wallet card)

Step 4: Create Your First Reward Offer

Go to Offers in your dashboard and tap "Create Offer."

A reward offer is what customers redeem when they accumulate enough points. Some examples by business type:

🥐 Bakeries

  • Free Croissant — redeem at 50 points
  • 10% Off Your Order — redeem at 100 points
  • Free Birthday Cake Slice — special occasion offer

💅 Nail Salons

  • Free Nail Art Upgrade — redeem at 75 points
  • $10 Off Any Service — redeem at 100 points
  • Free Express Manicure — redeem at 200 points

🛒 Grocery Stores

  • 5% Off Your Next Shop — redeem at 200 points
  • Free Bag of Produce — redeem at 150 points
  • Double Points Weekend — event-based promotion

☕ Coffee Shops

  • Free Drink — the classic that always works, at 100 points
  • Free Upgrade to Large — low-effort, high-value at 30 points

💡 Tip: Create at least two offers — one that's achievable quickly (e.g., 30–50 points) to give early motivation, and one premium offer (e.g., 200 points) for high-value customers.

Step 5: Share Your Program and Welcome Your First Customers

Once your loyalty program is live, it's time to get customers enrolled. You have several options:

📱 Option A: QR Code at Your Counter (Most Effective)

Every business on LoyalCustomer.app gets a public business page — a shareable URL that customers visit to join your loyalty program and download their digital card.

  1. In the app, go to Business SettingsMy Public Page
  2. Copy your business page URL
  3. Go to a free QR code generator (e.g., qr-code-generator.com)
  4. Paste your URL and generate a QR code
  5. Print it (A5 or A4 size) and place it at your checkout counter

When customers scan it, they:

  1. Enter their phone number to verify themselves (OTP)
  2. Download their personalized digital loyalty card directly to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet
  3. Are now enrolled — their points balance updates automatically after every purchase

💬 Option B: WhatsApp & Instagram

Post your business page link on:

  • WhatsApp Business status: "Join my loyalty program and earn free [reward] — tap here 👉 [your link]"
  • Instagram stories with a "Link in bio" CTA
  • Facebook group for your local area or regular customers

📲 Option C: Scan at Checkout (In-App)

When a customer is at your register:

  1. Open the LoyalCustomer.app
  2. Tap "Scan Customer"
  3. The customer shows their wallet pass QR code
  4. You scan it and add their points immediately

No extra app needed on the customer side after first enrollment.

🗣️ Option D: Just Tell Them

The highest-converting method is the simplest: when a customer pays, say:

"We just launched a loyalty program — scan this QR code and you'll earn points on today's purchase too!"

Step 6: Add Points at Checkout

Every time a customer makes a purchase, you add their points via the app:

  1. Tap "Add Points" from the home screen
  2. Scan the customer's wallet pass QR code (or search by name/phone)
  3. Enter the purchase amount
  4. The app calculates the points earned based on your points engine
  5. The customer's wallet pass updates automatically — they see their new balance

When a customer wants to redeem an offer:

  1. Tap "Redeem Offer"
  2. Scan the customer's pass
  3. Select the offer they want to redeem
  4. Their points are deducted and the redemption is recorded

Tips by Business Type

🥐 Bakeries & Cafes

  • Cadence tip: Customers visit daily or weekly — set your reward threshold at the equivalent of 5–10 visits (e.g., $50–100 in total spend for the first reward)
  • Seasonal campaigns: "Double points every Friday" drives foot traffic on slow days
  • Quick enrollment: Keep a printed QR code on the counter, not just at the cashier

💅 Nail Salons

  • Service upgrade offers (not just discounts) tend to increase spend per visit
  • Customers have long service times — great opportunity for staff to help them enroll
  • Offer a "5 points just for signing up" bonus to drive immediate enrollment

🛒 Grocery & Convenience Stores

  • Price-range tier mode works well here since purchase amounts vary widely
  • Post the QR code at the entrance AND at the checkout
  • Consider a "loyalty membership card" framing rather than "points program" for older demographics

💇 Hair Salons & Barbers

  • Monthly visits mean slower point accumulation — keep first reward achievable within 3–4 visits
  • "Bring a friend" referral bonus (manual: give 25 bonus points for referrals) drives organic growth

What Customers Experience

Here's the full customer journey once you share your business page:

  1. Receive the link (QR code, WhatsApp, Instagram, etc.)
  2. Visit your business page — see your business name, logo, loyalty program details, and available offers
  3. Enter phone number — receive an OTP to verify
  4. Download their loyalty card — directly to Apple Wallet (iOS) or Google Wallet (Android)
  5. Come into your store — you scan their card and add points
  6. Receive automatic pass updates — their wallet card shows current points balance after every transaction
  7. Reach a reward threshold — bring the app to your counter to redeem

Troubleshooting

My business verification is taking long: Verifications are manually reviewed. If it's been more than 48 hours, reply to your welcome email and I'll sort it out personally.

A customer's wallet pass isn't updating: Make sure you've hit "Add Points" from the app (not just scanning). The update goes out automatically within a few minutes.

I can't find a customer in the app: Search by phone number or name in the Customers tab. If they enrolled recently, try syncing the app.

The QR code at my counter isn't scanning: Make sure the print is large enough (at least 4x4 cm) and there's good contrast. Test it with your own phone first.
